I live in a house in a woods
With a dog and a spouse.
I wake when I want and sleep when I want,
A gift still new, a surprise each day.
I have deer and woodchucks and hawks, sometimes foxes and bones.
Birds of a feather come each day. Squirrels, of course a bane.
Frogs that cling and sing till late,
At times that narrow fellow in the grass.
More blessings than I ever dreamed.
I hope I stay here a long, long time.
I am content.
